Getting My Tourism On!

After a few months of being here I have finally got all of my housing, tuition, and other bills sorted out which means.... I am finally getting my tourist-mode on! This weekend Roisin, one of my roommate, is bringing me home with her to Birmingham. I've been informed that the culture in this area is a bit different from Hull, so I am excited to see exactly what this means! Our main reason for hitting up good 'ole Birmingham is for the St. Patrick's Day Parade.. it's apparently a big thing there. I shall post and upload some photos from this experience soon. I'll be there from Friday to Monday (3/11-3/14).

Then coming up in about two weeks is my trip to Dublin! As I've previously posted, I've joined the trampolining club here and will be performing in Ireland. This trip we'll be driving out to Leeds (very early in the morning) to make our 6 AM flight to Dublin - Thursday, March 24th. (For those who know me, this is going to be ROUGH! ...but hopefully worth it!) The competition is on that Saturday and then I leave back for Leeds at 12 on Sunday. I apparently am being considered a "Fresher" on this tour, since I'm a first-year "tramp-er". Hazing to be expected... EEK! We are going downtown one of the nights with a "fancy-dress" theme of "Fashion Disasters". So me and Kiri -- my other roommate -- hit up the thrift shops and got some tacky-clothing. This trip outta be fun and I'm just now getting my routine down, so I'm pretty excited!

Annnnd.... *drum roll* I've booked my flight to Paris and I'm not going alone! Fellow UIS-er and Study abroad student, Grethen Addis, is accompanying me on my Vacances รก Paris! I'll be going the second week of Spring Vacation: April 11th - April 16th! I cannot wait! This trip, I have been dreaming about since I started French in High School! Check... off the bucket list! Still in the process of planning what we will be doing there aside from visiting the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre,  Notre Dame... etc. I will obviously be posting photos on what we do when I return.

The last leg of my tourist plan is hitting up London! I made a friend recently through my roommate who lives in London -- Kyle. He has generously offered for me to stay with him and have him show me around. So this trip will more than likely happen somewhere during the last few weeks of April.

So those of you worried that I'm cooping myself up in Hull, I am getting out! No more need to worry!
That's pretty much all the updates for now..

Until next time!
